A flood outlook is back in effect for the area.

The Conservation Authority says it will be in place until next Wednesday at noon.

Officials say on top of Thursday night’s rain there’s more in the forecast Sunday through Tuesday which could impact water levels and Lake Nipissing, which is currently at it’s maximum operating level.

Environment Canada says 17.8 mm of rain fell yesterday.

That’s about 5 mm shy of a record.

However, we did set a new temperature record in North Bay.

The mercury hit 28.3 degrees, beating the 1990 record of 26.5.

Meantime, Hydro One is reporting some power outages in the area.

As of 8:30 am, about 290 customers are impacted in Rutherglen with about 80 more in the Callander, East Ferris, Powassan and Burk’s Falls areas.

The estimated restoration time ranges from 10 am to noon.

Province-wide, Hydro One says there were about 48,000 homes and businesses impacted by yesterday’s storm system, with more than half in the Sudbury region.
