The Nipissing Lakers have signed a couple of recruits: one for Men’s Hockey and the other in Nordic Skiing.

The hockey recruit is Jake Wright who is a transfer from Lakehead in Thunder Bay.

Wright from Sault Ste Marie played in the NOJHL and the Manitoba junior loop before playing the last two years at Lakehead.

Coach Mike McParland says Wright will add grit to his team but he can also score goals as he tallied a dozen times over the last two years.

Meantime, the Lakers Nordic Skiing team has added OFSAA gold medalist Alexander Maycock to the team.

He recently graduated from a high school in Orangeville.

His coach Toivo Koivukoski says Maycock will add to the depth of the program and increase the changes of having medal performances in the OUA next season.
