The official launch of a re-branded tourism related organization locally was held on Wednesday.

It’s called Tourism North Bay.

They also unveiled their new visitors guide, which will be showcased at tourism shows in major markets in Toronto and Ottawa.

Stephen Hollingshead is the organizations Director of Tourism.

He says they want to promote North Bay as a four season destination.

“Our purpose is to bring tourism to this town and help create that economic impact from tourism,” he says.

Hollingshead says it’s everyone’s job in the community to bring tourism to the city and provide a positive economic impact.

They are already booked into some shows in the summer and fall and have already scheduled some winter shows, as well.

They’ll be looking to show where North Bay is.

“You’re as close to these major markets as you’re going to get while remaining unique and true to the north, I think that’s what is really great about North Bay,” Hollingshead says.

He also says they need to take advantage of Highway 11 being four-laned and coming right to North Bay.

Overall, Hollingshead says they’ve partnered with 12 city organizations.
