The Nipissing Lakers have signed a couple of recruits.

Eric Ellison will be joining their men’s volleyball program.

He’s a transfer from Memorial University in Newfoundland which has cancelled its men’s volleyball program.

Ellison is from Winnipeg and played all his club volleyball there before moving on to Memorial and now Nipissing.

Meantime, Sophia Slater (pictured) will be part of the Nipissing Lakers Nordic Ski team this winter.

Head coach Toivo Koivukoski says Slater from St Mary’s Ontario  will give his team added depth in the upcoming season.
