doctors

North Bay is getting some new doctors and the promise of more to come.

That information is compiled in a staff report to city council.

A resolution passed authorizes the city to spend 90 Thousand Dollars in future years as part of its doctor recruitment initiative with the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Mayor Al McDonald says the partnership is working.

He says they recruited 3 new doctors last year and they opened up a clinic on Maplewood Avenue.

This year two more physicians have been recruited and five more are currently being recruited and 1 is being recruited already for next year.

The money allocated is part of a three year agreement in which the city contributes up to 175 Thousand Dollars a year for three years.
