YTV Summer 2016 with Jesse Beam

Chances are you’ll recognize one of the personalities on YTV’s The Zone.

Their new correspondent is North Bay’s Jesse Beam.

This is his first week on The Zone, which runs weekdays between 4pm and 7pm and on weekends too, connecting with and entertaining kids in between shows on YTV.

Beam says it’s a great fit for him, having been involved with children’s theatre and entertainment for most of his life.

He got his start with Dreamcoat Fantasy Theatre when he was 8 and has been involved ever since.

“They’ve been really instrumental in helping me to find my voice as an artist and confidence as a human being.”

Once in high school, Beam studied the theatre training program at Widdifield with Rob McCubbin.

He also says it took hard work to get where he is today.

Beam says there’s a rich arts community in North Bay and his advice to anyone looking to make in the entertainment industry is to follow your passions and work really hard at it and get involved, “try a Dreamcoat show, take a drama course, find whatever it is that makes you tick as an artist and focus on that.”
