The North Bay Battalion get back into action tonight (Friday) with a road game in Ottawa.

The Troops are sixth in the Eastern Conference standings, three points ahead of the seventh place 67’s.

Coach Stan Butler says the team has improved its position by winning seven of their last eight games.

“We’ve got to keep it going. There are eight weeks left in the season and we have to find ways in those eight weeks to get enough points to play in the next season,” he says, referring to the playoffs.

Adam McMaster (pictured), the 1st round pick of the North Bay Battalion in 2016, is starting to pick up his game.

He has scored five goals in the last five games, including two last time out against Saginaw.

Butler says McMaster has moved to the wing and that’s helped.

“He doesn’t have to work as hard down low defensively in is own end. It allows him to have the energy he needs to be successful offensively. He’s not a big guy right now but a fast guy and when he’s a fresh fast guy he’s hard to handle,” he says.

This is the second of four meetings between the teams, with the 67’s winning in overtime in North Bay earlier this season.

Catch tonight’s game on Country 600 CKAT starting at 6:55 pm.
