A Heat Warning has been issued for North Bay ,Powassan ,Mattawa, West Nipissing and French River.

The warning says hot and humid conditions will arrive Thursday and continue through the weekend.

Tomorrow high is 28 and Friday’s high is 30.

It’ll be partly sunny tomorrow and a chance of thunderstorms on Friday.

The warning from environment Canada advises you to watch for symptoms of heat illness, which include:
– dizziness or fainting, nausea or vomiting
– headache
– rapid breathing and heartbeat
– extreme thirst and
– decreased urination with unusually dark yellow urine.
If you experience any of these symptoms during a heat event, immediately move to a cool place and drink liquids.

Water is best.

Other tips include drink plenty of liquids especially water before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration.

Thirst is not a good indicator of dehydration.

Frequently visit neighbors, friends and older family members, especially those who are chronically ill, to make sure that they are cool and hydrated.

Never leave people or pets in your care inside a parked vehicle or in direct sunlight.
