NEW opp police

North Bay OPP say they’re investigating several break-ins to cottages along the south shore of  Lake Nipissing.

Police say the break-ins happened between July 17th and last Friday with damage done to the inside of the cottages and some items being stolen.

The list of items taken include a camera and camera equipment and a portable computer screen.

Police point out some of the cottages were only accessible via the lake.

North Bay OPP says they have been called to three collisions involving off road vehicles recently.

A 30 year old Alberta male was driving a three wheeler in Tilden Lake when he was thrown of it.

He was airlifted to hospital.

There was a collision involving an off road motorbike in Bonfield Township on a trail near Maple Road.

The driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

And a 9 year old Petawawa boy was operating an off road vehicle in Mattawa.

Police say the vehicle tipped over onto its side when it drove over a rock.

The driver was wearing a helmet and seat belt and wasn’t hurt.

Despite this, the owner of the vehicle was charged as no owner of an off road vehicle shall permit a child under 12 to drive the vehicle.

North Bay OPP are looking into an incident of mischief on Sunday night at 730 on Highway 11 near Marten River.

Police say a southbound drivers window was hit as a northbound vehicle on the other side of the highway was passing it.

Police say the driver suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Police say it appears something was thrown at the southbound vehicle.

Police are looking for the occupants of a two tone, green dodge pick up truck.

The driver and passenger are described as males in their early 20’s with shaggish brown hair and both were wearing ball caps.
