The next city council meeting is a week from tomorrow.

Councillor Jeff Serran says we’re still in the summer schedule so the council meeting will follow the committee meeting even if that’s before 7 pm.

He says if the committee meeting starts at 6 next Monday the council meeting will start right after it even if the committee meeting just lasts a few minutes.

Also at the next council meeting the politicians will vote on a motion to reschedule the time that the summer schedule of meetings will start.

The motion would push that time back to 6:30 for TV purposes and then begin the regular council meeting following that.

The new schedule won’t be implemented until August 22nd.

Serran says they do have an hour to do the committee meeting and if that’s the case and this is approved council meetings wouldn’t start in the summer period until 7:30.

But he says that’s not often the case and in fact the committee meetings at times last just a few minutes.
