The Powassan Voodoos have introduced their new head coach.

His name is Max Gavin and he is the son of former NHL player Stewart Gavin.

He describes himself as a players coach.

“I’m going to push the guys. I’m very demanding but fair. I want a fast paced game but blue collar. Guys are going to work hard but you do need skill to win so it’s a balance,” he says.
He will be on the ice this weekend for the teams prospects camp at Memorial Gardens.

Gavin says he’s met Battalion coach Stan Butler and is anxious work with him and some of their draft picks.
“I hope to develop as many Battalion players as possible. Kids want to make the OHL as that’s their dream. So we’re here to facilitate that,” he says.

He most recently coached the Adrian Bulldogs of the American Collegiate Hockey Association and they won a national title.
